WAIT IS OVER Sachin's 100th Century [ rare photos and video]

Centurion: Sachin Tendulkar's wait for his 100th international century is now over:
It had been 369 days since he last made a century for India (the second longest gap between hundreds over his 23-year career) but if that was trying his patience, his quest was causing some to suggest he was consumed to the point of self-obsession, always an unhealty thing in a team sport. Happily, it has come before his motivations can be questioned.

VIRAT KHOLI FINED FOR SHOWING HIS MIDDLE FINGER

SYDNEY: India's middle-order batsman Virat Kohli was fined 50 per cent of the match fee for showing his middle finger to the crowd on the second day of the second Test at the SCG.

"Mr Kohli, along with the manager of the team, Mr Shivlal Yadav, were summoned by match referee Ranjan Madugalle this morning. The player pleaded guilty and accepted his mistake. The matter is now closed," said media manager GS Walia on Thursday.

Kohli was pictured showing his middle finger to the crowd on the second day when Indians were on the ropes and Australians were piling runs by hundreds in the middle.

The level two offence for breaching the ICC's code of conduct relates to "using language or gesture(s) that is seriously obscene, seriously offensive and of a seriously insulting nature to another player, player support personnel, umpire, match referee or any other third person during an international match.

The minimum punishment for such an offence is 50 per cent of the match fee or a maximum penalty of a one-Test suspension.

Kohli had earlier used twitter to present his personal viewpoint on the matter.

"I agree cricketers don't have to retaliate, what when the crowd says the worst things about your mother and sister, the worst I've heard," tweeted Kohli.

Former England skipper and one-time team-mate of Kohli in the IPL side Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kevin Pietersen offered a word of sympathy to the young batsman on twitter.

"Welcome to Australia buddy ... you beat them and they start abusing their own."

It seems a Sydney Test between the two nations can't pass without a controversy.

During India's last tour of Australia in 2007-08, a massive row erupted on the "monkeygate" issue and nearly led to the abandonment of the tour and a diplomatic row between the two nations.

Dhoni's reason for losing first test match against AUS

MELBOURNE (Reuters) - India captain MS Dhoni gave a frank assessment of his team's fourth day collapse to lose the first test against Australia, saying the Melbourne Cricket Ground wicket was benign enough to reel in the victory target.

Chasing 292 to win, India were bundled out for 169 on Thursday after their formidable batting lineup crumbled in the face of a spirited onslaught from pace trio Peter SiddleJames Pattinson and Ben Hilfenhaus.

"I think they bowled a really good line close to that off-stump area... I think the length and line they bowled was very crucial," Dhoni told reporters following the 122-run defeat.

"We thought if we could get them out for 240 or 250-odd runs that's a very gettable score, but I felt 290-odd runs was also a score we should have achieved.
"The wicket was pretty good. It's not like there was too much wear and tear in the wicket. I think our batting line flopped in both the innings.
"In the second innings, we kept falling at regular intervals which meant getting close to 300-odd runs was becoming more and more difficult."
The laid back wicketkeeper-captain mounted a more spirited defence of his bowlers, who managed to bowl Australia out twice after being dogged by injury concerns in the leadup, but also failed to efficiently clean up Australia's tail in both innings.
Rangy 24-year-old paceman Umesh Yadav was impressive in just his third test, taking seven wickets, while Zaheer Kahn also took seven, the left-armer showing he had lost none of his guile after a four-month lay-off from injury.
Paceman Ishant Sharma, who was troubled by an ankle injury prior to the start of the four-match series, bowled a far lighter load in the second innings and only took two wickets, but Dhoni dismissed concerns about his fitness.

"The big positive to win a test match you need to take 20 wickets and we have been able to do that in this particular test match," Dhoni said.
"The scores that the opposition got were something that we could have achieved if we had batted well.
"We are hoping that the mistakes that we committed in this particular game, we work on it and don't repeat it in the next game that starts in Sydney (on January 3)."

SHEWAGS SIZZLING DOUBLE CENTURY... News with Videos and Stills

"I had never dreamt of doing this," Sehwag said during the innings break.
"The easy wicket and the short boundaries made it easier. I told Gauti (Gambhir) that if we showed a little patience we could get a big one. But I never expected to make a double century.

"The pitch was so true that one could play all shots. When Sammy dropped me, I knew God was with me. I am relieved but also tired because I am an old man now.

"I just want to thank my family and all those who have supported me in my career," he said.

BEAUTY AND HEALTH TIPS

SKIN CARE:

Cleansing: Face Cleansers

Cleansing of body removes perspiration, grease, dust, stale make up, dirt and bacteria from by the skin which cannot be removed by ordinary washing of the face. Cleansing creams go deeper into the pores and wash them thoroughly.
Steps to be taken while applying cleanser
Always tuck your hair before applying the cream to avoid making the hair greasy.
Apply cleansing cream in generous quantity on cheeks, chin, neck and forehead.
Massage the cream into the skin in a light upward and outward movement, concentrating on the creases near the nose, under the chin area, neck, earlobes, around the corners of the mouth.
Use a moist cotton to remove the cream as the dry cotton absorbs the moisture from the skin and we do not want to loose that moisture.
Repeat the cleansing process two or three times until the cotton wool comes out clean.
The cleansing must be ideally done twice a day, once in the morning and again before going to bed.

Hair Care Tips and Advice

This is the perfect place to be if you are looking for some quality information and advice on hair. From understanding hair and tips for maintaining it to awareness and methods to tackle hair problems, we have all the information you may require. Hair is not just dead cells growing from your body – any woman (and a large population of the men too!) will tell you how essential great hair is to look good and feel good.

Before you launch on to buying hair care products or start plans to revitalize damaged hair, it is essential that you understand the nature of hair itself. From hair growth to hair fall and pigmentation, learn the basics of it. The next thing you absolutely must know is your hair type. This will be the foundation on which you build your hair care routine and purchase your products. You do not want to buy a shampoo for normal hair when you actually have dry hair!

Once you identify your hair type – normal, dry or balanced you can get started on a proper hair care regimen. Maintaining great locks is not just about a quick shampoo and moisturizing. A lot goes into keeping your hair in its best state. Shampooing, moisturizing, massaging are just the absolute essentials of taking care of your hair.

Certain tips we provide can go a long way and may even help you identify the cause of any problem you may be facing. For instance, some of us cannot stay without hair dryers or straighteners. Torturing your hair with high heat is sure to damage your hair.

How about hair setting products loaded with chemicals? Say no to chemicals. Lemon juice is a natural setting lotion which will definitely not damage your hair. So you can now set your hair every day without worrying too much about its side effects!

While we are on the subject of hair setting, how about hair styling? Many of us have suffered bad hair styles in our sincere pursuit for a great look. The trick lies in knowing the shape of your face. With this little knowledge, you can get a great hair cut which will enhance your features and cover up the flaws.

Maintaining healthy hair takes work. It is only a matter of arming yourself with the right information and then practicing simple routines that can be easily accommodated in our daily lives. But what happens when your hair is damaged? Straight hair getting curly, dandruff, excessive hair fall, early grays, excessively oily or dry hair – the problems can be never ending. Learn the cause of your problems and the methods to rectify them. However if a problem is particularly bad, then you must consult a doctor. Trying too many solutions on your own may worsen the condition!

However what is most important and highly recommended is proper nutrition. Sure you want to keep those pounds off but make sure you eat all the healthy food. No point in being skinny but looking emaciated with a balding head! So be smart and do your gorgeous hair some justice.

HEALTH CARE:

Health and Fitness has now become one of the major concerns. Earlier humans used to hunt for their living, due to which their body had to undergo a lot of physical exercise. This made life active and alert. Now, life has become more simple and easy. Everything we need is just a phone call away. This easy life has restricted humans to do that bit of physical exercise which is required to keep the body fit and healthy. We get instant, spicy and variety of food which lose their nutrition during the process.

How do we ensure that we have all that we need to have a healthy living? This is a big question among everyone. We need proper nutrition and a fit and healthy body. Good Health is all that one craves for. Becoming healthier and fitter though not very difficult needs dedicated efforts.

Baked Potato. Take a cue from bodybuilders who live on baked potatoes during their carb eating trining days. Make it a meal by adding legumes, salsa or even cottage cheese.

Salad with veggies! Veggies are loaded with vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and great complex carbohydrates. they fill us up without filling us out and they supply great energy. Add in 1/2 cooked chilled pasta and make it a dinner salad.
